Life is a journey every individual on this earth is partaking in.  While we may appear to be traveling with many others, each one’s journey is highly individual and personal.  In these turbulent times, the journey may appear challenging but by taking the ‘deeper track’, which is not always the one most traveled, we are able to dive deep into the spiritual secrets of life which otherwise remain hidden.

Just as when one is in the ocean, she can choose to swim in the waves or dive deep to find hidden treasures.  By diving deep, the meaning and purpose of our lives becomes clear and real beauty is revealed.  Four things are necessary when one is on a journey; one is to keep one’s mind on the destination, the second is to have a clear route map, the third is to have a source of nourishment to sustain one’s strength and the fourth is to have a guide who is both knowledgeable and caring.  This also applies to our spiritual path.  On the spiritual path it is my one step of courage that attracts God’s 1,000 steps of help.

Cooking with Consciousness

Nutrition and Health
Pre-requisite: RY01

In the midst of a prevailing health and image-conscious culture, our concern with the effect of food on our physical health seems to have left us unaware of the equal importance of its impact on our mental, emotional and even spiritual health.  The saying: ‘You are what you eat’, takes on a new meaning when we look deeper into the connection between what we consume and our overall state of well-being.  There are many reasons why individuals choose vegetarian diet.  In this session, we will explore the vibrational effect a vegetarian diet has on one's spiritual life.  In addition, we will look at the effect of one's thoughts on the food being prepared.

The course structure invites us to come and:
  • Learn how to cook some tasty vegetarian meals and learn the importance of creating a spiritual atmosphere while preparing food.
  • Discover the effects of food on the mind and the effects of the way food is prepared on the mind.
  • Meditation will be a part of the course.
